Methods Used In Artificial Reproduction


Artificial Insemination: 
Artificial Insemination is one of the most common types of infertility treatment.Various techniques are available in this category including intrauterine insemination and In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). For many couples this is the most working solution for conceiving a child in various situations. 


What is artificial insemination??
The dictionary definition of Artificial Insemination is:- "The introduction of semen into the oviduct or uterus by some means other than sexual intercourse."

Methods of artificial insemination:

Intra Uterine Insemination (IUI):
This is the method of putting prepared sperm into uterus around ovulation period. For this, fertility drugs are used to stimulate the ovulation, that depending on the nature of the fertility problem. In this procedure the sperm is taken from your partner. If it is not applicable, the sperm will be from a sperm donor, which may have been preserved in a sperm bank. 



Intratubal Insemination:
This method is sometimes used in conjunction with IUI, if the insemination is in the fallopian tube. 

In Vitro Fertilization:
This is the method of injecting fertilized egg and sperm into a woman. A petri dish is used to fertilize the egg and sperm before injecting. IVF treatment is expensive and entirely different from artificial reproduction and it is more technical. So that this procedure usually used after less expensive methods have failed.
